As I mentioned before, we finally went to a pumpkin patch on the day of Halloween!
This was actually our second attempt...
We have the pass of all passes (if you're in Utah, you need this) so I thought I read in an email that we got into a certain patch for free with other free activities included.
We planned out a day that we had nothing going on and I was excited all week!
Well it just so happened to be realllyy rainy and cold that day.
Of course.
Hunter knew how badly I wanted to go see he stopped his homework and we all got in the car.
It was raining but more of a light drizzle at this point...
Hunter, being the sweet husband he is, kept trying to reassure me that it could be completely different weather at the patch and mountain weather changes withing a few minutes!
So we get there, and it's not raining! But, it's totally freezing.
Poor Oaklyn's nose immediately turned red and she didn't know what to do with herself in the cold wind.
We walked up and showed our passes and the lady says "That'll be $10" I looked at Hunter "I could've sworn we got in for free"
We stepped aside and even though $10 is not a lot of money it just didn't seem worth it because it was so cold outside and Oaklyn couldn't even do half the activities.
So, we left..
We stopped at the grocery store and got ourselves a pumpkin and called it good.
Not really the evening I had in mind, but oh well.
Then Halloween day comes around and it was a beautiful day!
So, I forced everyone to spend the time before trunk or treating at the patch and we had so much fun!
I fully understand that Oaklyn won't remember this time and she can't do a whole lot at things like this just yet, but I'm so glad we have these pictures to remember her first year.
She wanted to eat and suck on all the pumpkins, and loved walking through the hay maze with daddy.
They are seriously one in the same.
Their mannerisms, their mouths, and the way they get shy around people they don't know.
It's no wonder she said dada first (not bitter at all, I only gave her life).
We didn't buy any more pumpkins because we hadn't even carved the one we got from the grocery store yet... but we really enjoyed the time we spent as a family.
...and then Oaklyn was like "guys I'm so over this, is it nap time yet?" So, we left with loads of pictures and memories. All my love, Aleigh Joy |
It looks like you had so much fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a pumpkin patch yet. I really want to go to one next year. It looks like you had a lot of fun!!!
ReplyDeleteAwh!!! I'm glad you guys got to end up going. I had the pass of all passes when I lived in Utah and I mostly used it for 7 peaks and trafalga haha (however it's spelled!) I wanted to go to a pumpkin patch so bad this year and we just didn't end up doing it! Maybe next year we'll have a little babe to take with :)

So cute, I loved these photos, so much pure joy. :)
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute! Good thing you called it on the rainy day, it probably would have been miserable, and the weather that day looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! Can you please explain to me what Trunk or Treating is?? I've heard it a ton this year! I'm out of the loop... :)
