Let Freedom Ring

Monday, June 23, 2014
Now that I have my own little place to decorate just how I feel, I'm finding that every holiday needs to be decorated for.
I've had my 4th decor up since Memorial Day but I finally decided some pictures should be posted because it makes me quite happy.
Especially those shelves :)
And thank you to my wonderful Mother in law Dyanna for the sweet wreath! :)
And now, to pack for our cruise!!

Be Strong With Me

You know that Jenny Phillips song, Be Strong With Me?
Well, it has actually been stuck in my head quite a bit lately haha.
I used to blast Jenny Phillips in my car many Sundays that I still wasn't aloud to go to church.
Because of that, I have just about every word memorized to every song.
I used to sing it thinking about the wonderful friends I have and how much they helped me in my conversion.
I was singing it earlier this morning and realized that I still can apply it in married life.
I get to be strong with my best friend, and have him supporting me right by my side. Always.
And that sure makes the days seem a bit easier, the burdens feels a little less heavy, and the trials a little less scary.
"You and I, we need each other To stay on the Lord's side Wherever we are"

I'm so grateful for a wonderful husband that always puts the Lord before anything else and helps me remember to do so as well.
Thank you lovebug, for being strong with me.
You sure make life so much Moore enjoyable :)

All my love,

Because I'm Happy

Saturday, June 14, 2014
Mostly I'm just writing this post because Hunter is most likely going to be gone for a few more hours and I'm quite bored... (stupid spring semester cramming crazy assignments at the last minute) but also because there a few very little things that just meant a whole lot to me that made me particularly happy. So, why not blog?

Last night I was watching Netflix (I've developed an unhealthy obsession with the show Revolution) because Hunter had to go back to the school (I swear he lives there) to finish a group project. Then there was a knock at the door. I usually don't answer the door when Hunter isn't home, but I looked out the peephole to see some friends! My quiet, boring night of Netflix with myself, turned into Hunter coming home earlier than expected and all of us playing Nertz 'til 1:30 in the morning. Of course hunter won every single round, but we all did pretty well too. I guess haha. I'm just so grateful for the friends we have made here and for the memories we have already created. Tonight we have plans to go to the Orem summer festival. Who knew every city in Utah county does a summer festival?? Guys, I really truly do like Utah.

This morning we went to go clean our church building. We talked to another guy there who thanked me for my remarks in stake conference. I was already feeling pretty happy when we walked outside to see two men from our ward loading up a whole bunch of American flags into a truck. Hunter and I wondered what they could be doing with that many flags, but just continued on our way. As we drove home we noticed that those two men put flags in the yards of our ward members. It was such a cool sight seeing the flags waving in the wind. We got home and noticed they even put one in the grass of our complex. It made me smile thinking that they spent their Saturday morning trying to make other people's day. Well, it worked. I felt so much pride for our country and for being a part of a wonderful ward.

Lastly, I went to check the mail after eating some breakfast. Hidden between the junk mail, grocery store ads, and wells fargo credit card bills, was a little card from an address I didn't recognize. Last Sunday, Hunter and I were asked to speak to the Primary kids during sharing time about temple marriages and making covenants with your spouse and God. Inside that little card was a thank you note from the wonderful woman who asked us to speak. I smiled right as I opened the card and once again felt so grateful for the wonderful people in our ward.

So, there ya have it.
I'm just about as happy as a clam over here.
(who thought of that saying? Are clams even happy?)

Feed Your Missionaries

Sunday, June 8, 2014

We really enjoy having people over. Especially for dinner.
I love preparing a meal and using our best dishes to serve the meal in.
It's just fun for me.
The cleanup, is not.
We had about 5 different people over for dinner just this week and 2 of them happen to be the missionaries serving in our stake.
What great guys!
They were so enthusiastic about the work they are doing and had such strong testimonies of the restored gospel.
One is from Wales and the other is from Guatemala which made for some pretty cool stories back home but they both agreed that they are so happy where they are and are not ready to go back home.
It brought back many memories for my sweet Hunter.
After all, he has only been home for 5 months.
I loved hearing him ask the Elders questions I wouldn't have even thought to ask because he lived what they are experiencing currently.
It was so fun to hear one Returned Missionary and 2 Full-Time Missionaries converse about the joys preaching the gospel can bring.
I must admit that seeing my husband be the head of the household, and asking one Elder to give the prayer before dinner was quite the dream come true.
We had both dreamed of doing service together as a married couple for quite some time and feeding the missionaries was always on that list.
Those wonderful Elders sure brought a special spirit into our home.
We are so grateful for all the missionaries serving, whether or not they have a black name tag on.

So remember,
Feed You Missionaries!

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

Ps. Wanna chat with the missionaries online? I know you do!

Three Months of Marriage

Happy Three Months of Marriage Hunter Miles!

My sweet lovebug,

I love you Moore than I ever could have imagined loving another. I am convinced you are the most amazing husband out there and I love you with everything I have. These past three months have been the best three months of my entire 20 years of living. I can only imagine it will get better from here on out. I love the way you look at me, the nick names you come up with for me, the way you snuggle me every morning before you leave, that you ask to my hold my hand wherever we are, and that you tell me I'm beautiful when I'm not wearing an ounce of makeup. You are everything I could have dreamed of in a husband and Moore. I love looking back at our wedding pictures and remembering how happy and anxious we were on that day to finally begin our eternity together. We had been dreaming of our wedding day for just about all of high school and wrote love letters about it all through your mission. I always knew it would be you, and I'm so glad you felt that too. Every day just gets better and better. Though I am so excited to one day start a family together, you are all the entertainment I need ;) Throughout the day when we are apart, I miss you just like I did while you served for 2 years in Ohio. I'm in awe of all you do for me and how special you make me feel. Hunter Miles Moore, you are my one and only. You are my beginning and we have no end. You are my life, my love, my everything and I'm so grateful to be living this love story with you :)

Here's to the rest of eternity! :)

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

Our Wedding Book

We got our wedding book back a few weeks ago and it has become one of my favorite hobbies to look back on the wonderful memories from that day.
A few weeks before we got married there was a groupon for shutterfly making our wedding book about $15!
I bought that one really quickly and I am so glad I did.
We will cherish these memories for ever :)

For the Love of All Things Summer

Dinner is cooking, Hunter is doing homework, and I found it a perfect time to catch up on some blogging

I realize that by law of the four seasons, it isn't actually summer yet.
But, it sure feels like it here in Utah!
Which is crazy to me because about a week and a half ago I swear I was grabbing a sweater to bring to work and my umbrella because there was a chance of rain...
But, I am so not complaining.
Summer in Utah is Really fun!
And, it's even Moore fun with the best husband there ever was :)

-We spent Memorial Day at Seven Peaks Water park. It was a beautiful sunny day and the water park was packed. Yet somehow we zipped through most of the lines. I would have to say it's because most of the others there were a bit too little to go on the big kid water slides ;) We had a blast and can't wait to go back all summer long! Both of us love the water and sliding down on a double inter tube is just the best. We then came home and grilled up some hot dogs to make chili cheese dogs, made some fresh guacamole, and ended it all with the Heat game and popsicles :)

-Have you tried Rita's Italian Ice?
If your answer was no... find the closest one to you, and GO! It was quite good and both Hunter and I really enjoyed it. The Gelati was fantastic. Now I'm craving it. Cool.

- Our passports AND our marriage certificate came already! They are here quite early and we are SO happy! It's cruise time!
Well... almost. We're counting down the days :)

- We went on the Provo temple grounds last Sunday with peanut butter cookies in tow to have FHE. It was Hunter's lesson and even though it took about an hour, it was one I'll remember for quite some time :) We brought our patriarchal blessings and read them to each other but also had a paper with "I am" "I will" and "I won't" When we read each line we tried to see if it would fit under any of the categories. It was a very spiritual lesson and I'm so grateful for such an amazing husband

- We've made some really awesome friends here and have decided we might actually be really sad when we have to leave! (did I just say that?) Yep, we actually really are loving Utah. Remind me that I said this when the snow hits...

- Sonic happy hour has become one of my new favorite times of day. It is in the same parking lot as I work and a slushee is only like 70 cents. AND they now put nerds in them. Nerds people... I didn't even realize I liked Nerds but I sure do in my lemonberry slushees :)

- A couple weeks ago I was in the shower minding my own business when Hunter comes in the bathroom to let me know that the second counselor in the Stake Presidency called asking to speak with me. My tummy felt funny as soon as Hunter reminded me that Stake conference was coming up. Sure enough I called him back and hung up with an assignment to speak in stake conference. I've been here three months and have already spoken in our ward, have a calling, have given the closing prayer, and spoke in Stake conference. But hey, I'm not complaining! I'm glad they're putting me to work :)

- We drove wayy up the canyon with our awesome friends Hannah and Cody the other day and had a really fun bonfire! Mountain man Cody served his mission in the Dominican Republic and bought a machete while there. So, he had no problem finding us fire wood haha.

- Other than that... work is good for both of us, Hunter is an amazing husband, we have food on our table every night, we have a comfy bed to sleep in, Hunter is doing well in school, and we are just so grateful for our many blessings :)
