Happy Halloween!
Truthfully I don't really like Halloween.
It's really dark, and creepy. Girls don't wear enough clothing. Oh, and all the freaks come out from hibernation.
I really get the most excited about Halloween because it means we are THAT much closer to Christmas!
However, it is quite fun to see everyone's creative side come out in their costume creations. So yes, there is a plus side to this holiday.
I'm in that awkward stage of life where its like "wait, I'm too old to go trick or treating. hmm I also don't have kids to take..."
Thank goodness for trunk or treat.
This year my day went as follows:
Peterson's Donut Corner with Audrey friend. I highly recommend the glazed buttermilk bar. Absolutely wonderful.
After being on a sugar high and also feeling a little bit on the "blimp" side, I decided to go for a REALLY long walk.
After showering I made Oatmeal Cake. You wouldn't believe how delightful this stuff is. I can't decide if I want to post about it because the secret will be out... but I probably will :)
Then it was trunk or treat time. My ward does this annually. Kids go to the trunks in the parking lot and load up on candy. There are crock pots upon crock pots of chili. Oh and of course the less than scary haunted house on the stage ;)
Katniss Everdeen |
Wonder Woman and 50's girl |
The Moore Family! |
Love these two :) |
This would be a trunk, some go all out. |
Popcorn stand! |
Sweet Gretta with her cupcake from the cake walk |
And as of right now, I am snuggled up in the Raiders blankie, with my fuzzy socks, watching my favorite Halloween movie Hocus Pocus
Now that that's said and done. It's time for the REAL holiday season!
All my love,
Aleigh Joy
