Happy Halloween!
Truthfully I don't really like Halloween.
It's really dark, and creepy. Girls don't wear enough clothing. Oh, and all the freaks come out from hibernation.
I really get the most excited about Halloween because it means we are THAT much closer to Christmas!
However, it is quite fun to see everyone's creative side come out in their costume creations. So yes, there is a plus side to this holiday.
I'm in that awkward stage of life where its like "wait, I'm too old to go trick or treating. hmm I also don't have kids to take..."
Thank goodness for trunk or treat.
This year my day went as follows:
Peterson's Donut Corner with Audrey friend. I highly recommend the glazed buttermilk bar. Absolutely wonderful.

After being on a sugar high and also feeling a little bit on the "blimp" side, I decided to go for a REALLY long walk.

After showering I made Oatmeal Cake. You wouldn't believe how delightful this stuff is. I can't decide if I want to post about it because the secret will be out... but I probably will :)

Then it was trunk or treat time. My ward does this annually. Kids go to the trunks in the parking lot and load up on candy. There are crock pots upon crock pots of chili. Oh and of course the less than scary haunted house on the stage ;)
Katniss Everdeen

Wonder Woman and 50's girl

The Moore Family!

Love these two :)

This would be a trunk, some go all out.

Popcorn stand!

Sweet Gretta with her cupcake from the cake walk
And as of right now, I am snuggled up in the Raiders blankie, with my fuzzy socks, watching my favorite Halloween movie Hocus Pocus

Now that that's said and done. It's time for the REAL holiday season!

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

Why not wear wedges

Tuesday, October 30, 2012
On Wednesdays the plastics might wear pink, but on Mondays Audrey and I wear wedges to Chick Fil A

I had work off, she did too. I had a coupon for buy one meal get the second free. It was a deal.

I peaked in to Audrey's room and said, "wanna wear heels?"
After a few moments of silence she responded "Uhm... to chick fil a?"
"Well yeah, you're the friend that will wear them with me randomly"
So, we did.
And documented it along the way.

The shirt is from an unknown source

The white skinnies are from Nordstrom

Her hair is curled with an enzo milano

The necklace is from Forever 21
(disclaimer: the "J" is not haha)

The shoes are from The Closet

That shirt is from Forever 21

The red skinnies were thrifted

My hair was curled with the same enzo milano the morning before

The necklace is from Forever 21

The shoes are from Marshalls

Its about time I got some use out of the goodies in my closet :)

All my love,

Another week down.

Monday, October 29, 2012
I like collecting my thoughts on all that occurred last week at the beginning of a new week.
My past seven days have been lovely, with some tummy aches in between but thats another story.
You better believe that Taylor Swift holiday radio on pandora has been on in between Taylor's new album RED!
I can't help it, I just LOVE Christmas! If it were up to me we would just skip Halloween and go straight to the next two holidays in line.
However, it is quite hard to get in the Christmas spirit when California can't seem to shake this 80+ degree weather. Beyond lame.
It was another fun week, lets reminisce shall we?

We already know the most important detail of the week... Taylor decided to grace us with the presence of a beautiful album. Take a listen to this sweet tune.

Brother man turned sixteen years of age! However, he has more facial hair than most 30 year olds.

On Tuesday, I worked. Surprise there. Before I left my manager informed me of a conversation that occurred while I was in the back. She told me that Mike had asked her if I have a boyfriend. Upon responding yes, she also mentioned that he is "away" right now. Mike immediately assumed that meant Sweet Hunter is in the army. Manager Karlie responded with a glorious answer of, "well kind of, he's in the army of God!" Upon hearing this I couldn't wipe a smile off of my face. My studly soldier is fighting the battle of truth and righteousness in the army of God :)

On Wednesday I woke up at my parents home and slept in because I wasn't feeling well. After eating a few potstickers my mother made, I went to kaiser. I am there wayy too often. Details on that whole situation will hopefully be delivered soon.

Thursday was quite a busy day. Work. Babysit. Bachelorette party.
Not going to bed until 3:30 isn't really my cup of tea, but it was a fun day!
The sweet Sadie child fell asleep right in my arms and held my hand the whole time through. Love how sweet she is :)

After work on Friday I went to brothers football game. Oh and after that, I went to a Halloween Boat Dance! I wore my bumblebee costume, the same one I have had since 7th grade...

Saturday Lauren and Todd got married! I just love weddings so very much. It was beyond beautiful and you can just tell how in love they are :) Another missionary success story :)

On Sunday our ward had our Primary Program! Don't ya just get a kick out of those kids? I know I do. Later that night I carved a pumpkin which I was quite excited to do! Turns out its just not really my expertise. My "We love Hunt" pumpkin kinda turned into "We love lunt..." It takes serious skill to mess up that bad :) I also wrote Hunter his forty third email since the mission fist began. Forty. Three. That's a lot of words people. Speaking of Hunter, I might as well include some recent pictures :)
See what I mean? pure talent.

Apparently that bug is named Fredrick.

In his words "The gang"

Look at that handsome man :)

At the crew soccer game!

Time to begin a new week!
What are you going to be for Halloween?
As for me I'm between a hippie and a 50's girl.
Thank goodness we are going to be in November in just three short days :)

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

Just when I think there is no possible way Taylor can top Speak Now...
She does it again!
Lucky for me living in California, the album came out at 9 instead of midnight on itunes!
Holllaa!
It has been on repeat every single day. I can just picture her on stage now.
I dream big.
Every single song is beautiful, but ya know how there are always just a few songs that completely speak to you? The ones that you can relate to and you think she definitely wrote that song for only you?
As for me, those songs are STAY STAY STAYand STARLIGHT

"You took the time to memorize me:
my fears, my hopes, and dreams.
I just like hangin' out with you, all the time.
All those times that you didn't leave;
It's been occurring to me I'd like to hang out with you, for my whole life."

"Ooh ooh he's talking crazy
Ooh ooh dancing with me
Ooh ooh we could get married
Have ten kids and teach them how to dream"

I'm obsessed.

Well, now I'm off to go buy a garter for sweet friend Lauren that got married today!
I love weddings. I love, love. :)
Did I mention that she waited for her missionary? :)
Yep, its a love story.

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

A belated birthday post.

Tuesday, October 23, 2012
October 22, 1996
Twas the day my sweet little brother appeared in this world.
I was 2 years of age, so I have no recollection of the actual day.
However, I do know that it must have been one grand day.
I gained a baby brother, a best friend, and my adventure buddy.

Andrew "WesTley", as he would call himself, is the most amazing brother a girl could ask for.
I mentioned in his birthday card yesterday that he is the perfect mixture of just about everything.
He is absolutely hilarious, has such a sweet heart, desires to do good, and can be rough and tough.
He has always had my back and was always there for me to talk to.
He supports me and loves me and never complains when I repeatedly play my Taylor Swift CD.
I love him so very much and I am so proud of the young man that he is becoming.
I'm so thankful that I was given a brother and a best friend :)
So here is to 16 lovely years, and numerous more!
Happiest of Birthdays, brother dear.

We celebrated another year of his life at 333 Pacific. Quite delish!

I love you brother!

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

In this moment I just feel so alive.

Sunday, October 21, 2012
This week was so incredibly wonderful.
One of the happiest, most fun, carefree, weeks I have experienced in quite a while.
I think I opened my laptop a total of 3 times.
NEW RECORD
I have forgotten how fun it is to be busy with more than just what you have to get done.
I usually mentally prepare myself for the day with a list of things I need to get done...
I never did that in high school.
I just let my days happen and hoped they would get filled up with exciting things to do.
They always did and I always thought to myself that the weeks would just fly by.
Growing up will always contain a bit more responsibility depending on your endeavors, but who ever said that means you have to give up the fun side of life?
No one ever.
This week reminded me of one of my favorite quotes.
"Do more of what makes you happy"
Yes, its simple. But, I will continue to live my life with this mentality.
We will all continue to grow old, but as for me I will most definitely never grow up.

Pictures? Of course.
Throughout the past few weeks I have been stalking facebook like a mad man looking for old and new pictures of Hunt for what his Christmas present entails. I love coming across gems like these! Oh how I miss that fellow.

I LOVE babysitting and word is starting to get around that I have some free time to do so. Children ignite some special feeling inside myself. Its a mixture of love and happiness (we'll call it lappiness) that I only experience around children.

Perfection is an understatement when it comes to Sprinkles cupcakes.
That would be a red velvet and alongside it, a caramel apple.

La Jolla at its finest

Going to my brothers football games makes me happy.
Especially when he gets to play running back!!

Seals make this funny toot noise when they get mad at you...

The San Diego Temple. Beyond words.

I love this place.

Did I mention that sweet Samantha decided to visit???
Talk about a lovely surprise!

Along with her came lovely Katie friend, so happy we got to meet :)

Crunchy roll. Holllaa.

Yeah so, I was a super senior the other night at the homecoming game. And guess what! We still got it ;)

Here's to another week!
And this week entails a sixteenth birthday for brother, a Halloween boat party, and a lovely wedding! Oh the excitement :)

All my love,
Aleigh Joy
