A Quick Date Night Touch Up!

Tuesday, January 7, 2020
This post was sponsored by Gray Away as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own

When did you get your first gray hair? Or are you one of the lucky ones that still doesn't have any? I remember seeing my first gray hair in high school... yes I'm serious! Of course at that point in time it was just one or two that would pop up once in a blue moon so it wasn't much to worry about. After having kids though, I started noticing them much more often as well as some discoloration surrounding my roots. When I dyed my hair for the first time last year, I did a balayage. I love the way it looks but with the top of my hair being much darker than the bottom, the gray and lighter colored hairs surrounding my face really show up! I really don't want to dye my hair all over or do anything else that requires a bunch of maintenance so I've been trying to figure out what to do! Luckily, I came across the perfect solution!

I normally have my hair in a braid, ponytail, or bun but I love getting dressed up and putting more effort into my appearance for special things like date night with Hunter. Being a mom of two little ones, I clearly have limited time to get ready and definitely don't have time to go sit in a salon chair. That's why I'm so grateful I found Gray Away Temporary Root Concealer! It's such a quick and easy solution when you are in between salon appointments. It is  a quality root concealer that can be used at home and fits perfectly with an on-the-go lifestyle!

In case that didn't already make you want to run to ULTA beauty to grab some for yourself, here are a few more reasons you definitely need to try it!

-Instant gray hair and root coverage in 10 seconds.

The stick has a dual-ended angled tip that helps with precise application and a sponge tip on the opposite side that is perfect for blending!

Now check out my before and after... I can't believe what a difference it makes! The Gray Away Temporary Root Concealer comes in three shades Lightest brown/blonde, light brown, and dark brown. Here I'm wearing light brown. Each one of these cans will last you 40 applications and has self-adjusting color technology that blends with hair color and covers 9 shade levels!

Getting ready for date night and every other night out just got so much easier! Gray Away is conveniently located in store or online at ULTA beauty!

DIY Coconut Oil Face Mask

Sunday, June 18, 2017
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CreateWithOil #CollectiveBias

I've been using coconut oil for a while now in my cooking.
I love the benefits of using it as well as the taste!
Coconut Oil is the freshest take on cooking! That’s because coconut oil is one of the most versatile cooking oils, perfect for sautéing, drizzling and even pan frying!
A few of my favorite dishes to use it in are stir fry, roasted sweet potato, and pan seared chicken.
I've tried a few different brands but have definitely loved LouAna Coconut Oil the best!
LouAna was born in Opelousas, Louisiana in 1820, a place where the food is an elemental expression of love, flavor, and family.
With over 14 different types of cooking oil, LouAna has the perfect oil for all of your cooking needs.
Whether its sautéing, deep frying or baking, LouAna helps every type of cook put the best dish on the table each and every time.
So, If you’re looking for a mildly delicious coconut taste and aroma, then LouAna Unrefined Coconut Oil is perfect!

Not only do I love cooking with coconut oil, but I absolutely love using it for beauty benefits!
There are several different ways to use it for beauty purposes, but my favorite way I have found so far is to make a mask/cleanser out of it!
This mask is incredibly easy and has many benefits for your skin.

So, what are those benefits you ask?
Here ya go!

1) Gets Rid of Acne: Baking soda and coconut oil scrub will help you easily fight acne without using harsh products from the drugstore. The antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties of the two miracle ingredients together help treat the cause as well as reduce symptoms of acne and other breakouts. It also helps balance the skin’s pH which in turn will help prevent reoccurring breakouts.

2) SOFT skin! Using this mask/cleanser will gently wash away the rough outer layer of skin on your face revealing fresh and soft new skin. In turn, you'll notice your skin has a healthy glow to it.

3) Acts as GOOD oil: This acts as an absorbing agent to control excess oil. Controlled oil on your face decreases breakouts!

It also helps even your skin tone, get rid of blackheads, get rid of dark spots, can help with sunburns, and can even be used in your hair to remove product build up on your scalp!
Seriously, soo many benefits!

So, how do you make this miracle mask?
It's incredibly easy!

What you'll need:
-A medium bowl
-LouAna Liquid coconut oil
-Baking Soda
-Container to store in

Directions:
-Add 1 tbsp of coconut oil to medium bowl
-Add 1 tsp baking soda to bowl
-Stir until evenly mixed and white in color
-Massage about a tsp (more or less) of mixture in circular motions on your skin for 5-10 minutes focusing on trouble areas
-Rinse off with cold water and pat your face dry with a towel

Can you believe that is it?
It is so easy and so insanely good for your face!
But what do you do with all the leftover since you only use about a tsp each time??
I like to store mine in an air tight container so I can easily access it for each use!
I got my container at a craft store and I'm sure you can find one similar several other places.
I then used my vinyl cutter to make a little blue label for the front.
I wrote on the words "scrub a dub dub" in hopes to keep my husband from throwing it away ;)
Since it looks like milky water, it's best to be safe haha.
I just attached that to the jar and had myself a cute little way to store my mask!

I highly suggest using LouAna Liquid Coconut oil for best results because LouAna is always the start of something good!
I purchased mine at My local Kroger Banner Store where they had several in stock and it was easy to find.
To easily find where you can purchase LouAna Coconut Oil click here!

Now tell me, what are your favorite uses for LouAna Coconut Oil??
You can also click here to save $1.00 on any LouAna Coconut Oil purchase!

Let's Talk Lipsense

Tuesday, February 7, 2017
Wearing the color "nude" on my lips here

Alright guys, I've been so absent on this blog it's scary!
I'm sorry!
December was a crazy busy month and January has been such a funny month.
I'm blaming the "winter blues," cloudy grey skies, and crazy amounts of snow for my lack of inspiration haha.
Anyways, this post is gonna be short and sweet and to the point...
I just wanted to let all you awesome people know that I've taken a little leap of faith and started yet another business venture with Lipsense!
While I'm usually excited for whatever project I start up, I'm particularly excited about this one because it is seriously SO fun!
Lipsense is a lipstick that molecularly bonds to your lips and stays on between 4-18 hours depending on how dry your lips are.
It is waterproof, kiss proof, smudge proof, and hydrates your lips while staying put!
I've loved this product since the moment I tried it and have considered signing up since then, but could never seem to get myself to do it.
Now I'm totally kicking myself!
You guys, this company is seriously awesome.
I have friends making anywhere from an extra $500 a month to $50,000 a month and anywhere in between!
Can you even believe that??
Hunter still has a year left until graduation and can't work a "real" job until then.
He has three jobs currently but when you're going to school full time, those three jobs just don't always cut it.
Needless to say, things can get stressful and I noticed that alters my mood.
I decided I can either sit back and mope around or do something about it, so here I am doing something about it ;)
I'm honestly super excited about this journey and I really hope I can help you all see how awesome this company is!
Here's my Facebook Group that you can join to check out exclusive discounts and offers as well as updates on my stock.
I also created an insta account for anyone wanting updates that way.
I'd also absolutely love to have any of you on my team if you're interested!
It's $55 to sign up and has literally changed lives for so many women!
Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions!

Okay, now that I got this post up I need to really work on some more content for this blog.
Ugh, can it be Spring yet??
Thanks for all your support as always :)

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

Bela Bracelets + Favorite Pinterest Pony Tails

Sunday, October 2, 2016

I think this scenario has happened to all of us girls at least 20 times in our lives...
You have a hair tie around your wrist, then you have to take family pictures, portrait shots, engagements, maternity photos, whatever it may be, and you take your hair tie off to ensure the ugly little black thing on your wrist is out of the picture.
Then, you're out and about and it's burning hot and all you want to do is put your hair up.
But wait... that hair tie you always have around your wrist is now in your other purse back home because you took it off for pictures yesterday!
Ugh, it's seriously the worst!
And, happens to me more than I'd like to admit being that I take pictures very often.
Fun little story: I was wearing a black hair tie in every single one of my engagement photos and no one noticed and told me.
Of course the photo we chose for our announcement had my hair tie front and center and I was so mad!
Luckily we were able to photoshop it out, but that added some extra work.

That's why I was so excited to hear about Bela Bracelets!
These bangles stylishly hide your hair ties for you!
Is that not the neatest thing?
There's a little groove all around the bracelet that makes it so easy to slip your hair tie in and out of.
It holds in place perfectly throughout the day and I was pleasantly surprised about the comfort level because I usually don't like bracelets at all for that reason.
I'm also loving that they have both gold and silver and different styles to choose from.
They are gorgeous and the perfect way to look classy while also carrying around your hair tie!
The only negative thing I have to say is that I'm bummed I didn't think of this concept first ;)

Now on to my favorite Pinterest ponytail styles!
You guys, remember when pony tails used to be the style you did when there was no other option or because you just didn't care... well girls all over are transforming the ponytail into something gorgeous.
Check out some of my favorite Pinterest pony tail styles!
One | Two | Three | Four

So, what are your favorite pony tail styles?
And can you imagine how much easier your life would be with Bela??

DIY No-Sew Lace Headband and 3 Summer Hair Styles!

Monday, April 18, 2016
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #WholeBlends #CollectiveBias

I am so excited to be sharing this wonderful new product from Garnier with all of you!
Not only am I going to be talking a little about my new favorite hair products, but I'm also going to show you how I just made a No-Sew lace headband!
I loved the way this headband turned out, so I immediately started trying out some new hairstyles with it.
Lucky for all of you, I'm going to be showing you how to do 3 of these hairstyles that pair great with the headband and are perfect for spring and summer!

Living in dry Utah, I'm always on the hunt for affordable hair products that will hydrate and bring new life to my hair.
While at my local Walmart the other day, I came across a display for Whole Blends Hydrating Hair Care products!
I was intrigued right away by the wonderful smell of the Coconut Water and Vanilla Milk scent, but what really sold me was all the benefits it contained for my hair.

I just need to tell you all a little about why I have fallen in love with this product.
All of the Whole Blends Hydrating Hair Care products give your hair wholesome loving care, and are blended perfectly for naturally beautiful hair.
What more could a girl want? Just wait, there's much more!
Garnier made sure to carefully select all the ingredients in their formulas and made them to nourish deeply, hydrate, and repair all hair types!
You really can't go wrong with any of the Whole Blends Hydrating Hair Care Products but I will vouch that the Coconut Water and Vanilla Milk blend is amazing!
Just smelling it made me feel like I was in Hawaii!
This particular product contains hydrating care for the thirstiest of hair. Aka... my hair!
It also quenches and softens de-hydrated hair which is everything I need living in such a dry state!
Right after using my Whole Blends Hydrating Hair Care I noticed how much more silky and smooth my hair felt.
I am totally hooked!

After using (and falling in love) with your new Whole Blends Hydrating Hair Care product, it is time to style it!
First, you'll need to learn how to make my DIY no-sew lace headband!
This is a super simple tutorial and takes 10 minutes max!

 Supplies needed:
Lace of choice
Elastic
Hot glue gun
Scissors
Felt

Instructions:
1. Measure your lace around your head and cut it when both sides hit just below your ear. Then measure your elastic to have it make up the difference. Cut that in half... you want it to be tight enough to stay on your head!
2. Hot glue the elastic to one side of lace.
3. Hot glue to the other to complete the circle.
4. Take a thin piece of felt and hot glue around the edges where the elastic and lace meet to secure and make it softer.
5. Complete! Just let it dry before wearing!

Are you ready for my hairstyles now?
I hope so! These are super fun and of course, super easy!
Each hairstyle takes 10 minutes or less, which is perfect for busy sunshine filled days!

This first one will probably work best on hair a little shorter than mine, but still looks great with any length!

The second one is definitely my favorite!

And this last one is perfect when you are on the go and just need something quick and fun!

I hope you enjoyed all of those!
I just love the way they turned out!
I know that I have my Whole Blends Hair Care products to thank for perfectly silky smooth hair that looks healthy and feels great!
I can't wait to continue using these products all summer long to keep my hair nourished.
I hope you decide to try out some of these styles and of course my new favorite hair products.
Make sure to check out the whole line of Whole Blends products here and find the best one for your hair type!

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

On A Sunday

Monday, February 29, 2016

When Hunter and I were just a family of two, Sundays meant a day for us to snuggle and be lazy all day long.
We would sleep in, go to church, eat dinner, watch a movie, and snuggle.
That was about it, but it was exactly what we needed.
We both worked, Hunter went to school, Hunter played football, and life was just busy.
Sundays were a breath of fresh air.

When we became a family of three, Sundays were just a tad different.
I'm sure you have all heard before that when you become a mama, you don't get any days off.
Oh, how true that is!
Sunday included...
While I still love Sundays, they have proven to be a bit challenging with our sweet Oaklyn girl.
Church is a game of chasing her around, finding ways to entertain her, standing in the hall with her, and trading off who gets to listen in class and who gets to take her. Ha, its the truth!
I believe they call this the..."countdown to nursery" age.
Once we have made it through church, we usually go home to eat some lunch.
After we're all fed, Oaklyn still has a couple hours before nap time.
Those can be the hardest hours...
If it were any normal day we would go run errands, but we're LDS, and don't run errands on Sunday.
So, here are a few things we do to keep the Sabbath day holy while also entertaining a baby ;)

1) Go for a walk.
Yes! Go! Walks are the greatest family activity, I'm convinced. We are loving the sunnier and warmer weather we're getting right now and taking walks together has been so great for all of us. We love sticking oaks in her jogging stroller with some snacks. She loves watching the cars drive by, and Hunter and I love getting uninterrupted conversation in. We'll occasionally stop at the park and go down the slide or swing on the swings also.

2) Have a family picnic.
This can be indoor or outdoor, near or far. You can even pack it up on your family walk
and just go set up camp at the park while the kids play. It'll get all their energy out too! There's just something about a picnic. I just love the whole feel of it. Fresh fruit, juice pouches, sandwiches, and chips make the perfect picnic lunch.

3) Watch a movie.
I love watching movies. but this usually happens AFTER we put Oaks down. Or else I'll get nothing out of the movie ;) We love watching church movies on Sundays but we also enjoy several others. Before we even had Oaklyn, one of our favorites was Tangled ha. I'm so not ashamed to admit it, it's a pretty cute love story ;)

4) Have a family talent show/fashion show
I can't wait until Oaklyn is a little older so we can have these all the time! It'll encourage your kids to try out new talents and it'll help them have good confidence in themselves. I would recommend not having "judges" but hey, to each his own!

5) Go through old photos, journals, yearbooks, home movies, or anything else sentimental.
I wrote in a journal almost every day in high school about me and Hunter's relationship. We LOVE going through those journals and laughing about our teenage drama. We also love watching videos of Oaklyn in her first year, watching our wedding video and Hunter's homecoming video, as well as looking at our photo books. I'm so glad I've recorded so many memories for Oaklyn to have later on.

6) Call or facetime a friend or family member
Since we have so much extra time on Sunday to just hangout. we like to facetime with family. It's a great way to keep them updated on Oaklyn's life as well as see all the new things she is doing. We love talking and catching up while the camera is facing her. It's like they are right there with us :)

Those are just a few things we love doing as a family on Sunday but there are so many more out there!
Such as head rubs and foot rubs, family history work, "makeovers" with little girls, baking a treat, or playing a board game.
What are your favorite things to do with your family on Sunday?

This past Sunday I wore one of my all time favorite dresses from Pink Desert.
I LOVE this company and their cute clothes!
No only is this dress adorable, but it is beyond comfortable.
It is the perfect length and gives the perfect stretch to chase Oaklyn all through church ;)
I love the floral and stripe combo. Mixing patterns is just so fun to me.
Make sure to check out Pink Desert to get this dress, but while you're at it, make sure you also check out all their new arrivals! They are to die for!

Women's Holiday Gift Guide

Thursday, December 10, 2015

Friends! I am SO excited about this gift guide right now!
It's pretty much my Christmas list...
I love EVERYTHING on it, and I know you will too!
If you're stumped this year trying to figure out what you want... I have you covered!
And the best part? These are all very affordable gifts!
Cause let's be honest for a sec... Christmas is so great, but it can get pretty overwhelming with the amount of money being spent.
So, here's a list you won't feel terrible handing to your mom, boyfriend, or husband ;)

1. Rad Swim | I LOVE everything over at Rad Swim. Like seriously... everything. I love all the unique designs and I especially love that they are modest! This black suit is a dream! The fringe and the aztec design are so incredible. I get it... it's winter. All you can think about right now is a scarf and mittens, (except my SD friemds!) but winter is the best time to by a bathing suit! It gives you something to work towards wearing over summer ;)

2. Zella Leggings | I'm obsessed with these leggings! I wear them more than I should admit and they are beyond comfortable! Not only that... but they are the best quality. Stop buying your $10 walmart leggings and wondering every time you wear them if you can see through them. These are the best quality. And... they definitely beat lulu's price ;)

3. Waffle Love | I can't get over how good these waffles are! I find myself craving them allllll the time! If you really wanna surprise your loved ones, stick a waffle love gift card in their stocking! Maybe, they'll even take you with them ;)

4. Piper and Scoot | Ever since finding out about this online shop, I've been completely obsessed. It's so dangerous following them on instagram because I seriously want everything I see! Then I have to talk myself out of it ha! But the times that I don't, I'm so happy with my purchases! I'm especially loving this plaid peplum! It's so entirely dreamy! Oh, and it would look great with some Zella leggings and black booties ;)

5. Anthro Mug | THIS MUG! Uhm, it's amazing. I'm obsessed with all things gold and this gold lettering is killin it! I can just picture drinking cocoa in it next to the tree! I'm obsessed with mugs as it is, but this one has been my absolute fav so far!

6. Black Booties | Every girl needs a cute pair of booties. Every girl also needs a cute pair of booties in both black and brown ;) I have brown, and I'm now swooning over this black pair! Forever 21's booties fit me really well and black just goes with everything! Please get me these Santa! *cough, cough... Hunter

7. Faux Fur Vest | Another thing every girl needs is a faux fur vest! I'm dying over these! I can just picture it with that plaid peplum! I would totally insert a heart eye emoji here if I could! You really can't beat Target prices, and I tried this one on so I know it's worth it!

8. MAC Lip Glass | I'm going to be honest here for  a sec... I don't buy expensive brands of makeup. It's never been worth it to me because I don't wear a whole lot very often and you just wash it off at the end of the day anyways, so like, what't the point? Right? Then, I got married and decided to splurge a little on wedding makeup. I went to the MAC counter and have loved everything I got but this lip gloss is absolutely on my top 5 favorite makeup products ever! It's the most beautiful shade and works with all neutral looks! It also stays on surprisingly well! So worth it.

There ya have it!
Those are my 2015 Christmas picks!
I hope you love them just as much as I do!
Stay tuned for a men's gift guide and a children's gift guide!

What's on you Christmas list this year??

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

Get Gifting with the Flash&Go!

Monday, December 7, 2015
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GiftSilkn #CollectiveBias

I have a confession to make...
I have to shave my legs Every. Single. Day.
It takes up SO much time in the shower and I really hate it!
Between the several times I've cut myself and the prickly feeling I get even after I shave... I have pretty much hated everything about shaving since I started back in middle school.
I have a lot of hair on my head, it's pretty thick too! I love that I have a good amount of hair on my head, but what I hate is that the same thick hair is on my legs if I don't shave every day!
For as long as I can remember, I've hated wearing a bathing suit or skirt because I never felt like my legs were quite smooth enough.
I've looked into getting them waxed. I've bought the more expensive razors, I've tried the creams that supposedly take all the hair off, and I've considered the ever so expensive laser hair removal.
Nothing seems to be a good fix and I kind of just gave up and decided leggings were my best friend no matter what season it was.

I've been trying so hard to figure out what I want for Christmas this year.
It just gets harder as you get older because everything you need or want you just go get for yourself.
I was walking through Bed Bath and Beyond the other day to kill time while my car was being worked on and decided to look through the millions of cool gadgets they have.
I found the Silk'n Flash&Go and couldn't get myself to walk away from it!
It guaranteed that after using it you would never have to shave again!
What?!
That was the perfect solution to my never ending long showers spent shaving my legs.
And, the perfect gift for me!

I started using it the day I got it and was shocked at how fast it was!
It was also SO simple to use!
I must admit that I was nervous before starting because the directions mentioned something about pain (as you'll see in the video down below) but I am SO happy to tell you all that it didn't hurt AT ALL!

I can treat my skin from the comfort of home every 2 weeks and after just 3-4 treatments, hair growth will be noticeably reduced!
Once I start noticing a difference I can treat monthly and eventually, hair will be permanently removed thanks to the patented light technology!
I also really love that Silk’n Flash&Go can be used for the whole body and face (from the cheekbone down).
You better believe I'll be getting rid of the constant razor burn in my armpits by never shaving again using this baby!

So how does it work you ask?
Using the Flash&Go is easy and very straightforward.
Make sure to first, shave the area of skin you will be treating to ensure the best results!
Then, start with the lower energy levels and work your way up to the higher energy levels, which is when the patented light technology will be most effective at treating the hair!
The Flash&Go is so easy to use and has already made a big difference in the hair growth on my legs!
I also love that it is safe to use even on the most sensitive skin!

If you want to purchase the Flash N Go for you or a friend, now is the time!
They have an amazing promotion going on right now where you can win a trip to Aruba!
Yes, you read that right, Aruba!
For you chance to win follow these simple instructions:
  • Purchase Silk'n Flash&Go at Bed Bath & Beyond or Kohl's in store or online. (we encourage you to include links to purchase the product online)
  • Receive a $25 gift card to the retailer of your choice and be entered to win a trip for 2 to Aruba.

I made my first ever family Vlog to share my experience using the Flash N Go with you guys!
Also, take note that we were able to get so much done throughout the day and just a small chunk of my time was spent using the Flash N Go!
It makes it easy to pamper yourself and still get everything done that you need to.

An awesome way to gift this to a friend or loved one would be to create the perfect themed gift basket!
The first thing I thought of when thinking of smooth legs, was to add a bathing suit, some nail polish, and some yummy smelling lotion!
This would be the perfect gift for another mom that is need of some pampering.

The few items you will need to purchase for this basket are, the Silk N Flash&Go, a cute decorative bag or basket, your favorite nail polish, a bathing suit, and some lotion.
So simple!
Now all you need to do is assemble and write a thoughtful card and you are all set!

I really cannot say enough good things about the Flash&Go!
It has been such a time saver for me and I know all of you will love it too!
I hope you all try it out and if you do, comment below to tell me all about your experience and if you won the trip to Aruba ;)

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

Holiday Look with Aro & Company

Wednesday, November 18, 2015
Are you ready for part two of my holiday look??
Guys! I had so much fun with the makeup tutorial (even though the dumb video didn't work, I need a new computer...) but I'm actually even more excited abut the outfit portion!

This outfit from Aro & Company is such a dream!
I'm like actually literally obsessed with this skirt.
I love gold anything, but look at this print!
Every item in the Aro & Company's online shop is beyond adorable, but I'm so happy I decided on this skirt and top combo.
It was so easy to pair with some black booties and a gold necklace plus tights, because it's getting colder.

I am so excited about Thanksgiving this year.
It's bound to be better than last year...
I was pregnant and I was so excited to eat without worrying about gaining a million pounds.
Then, literally the night before, I got the stomach flu.
Like really bad too.
I was SO mad! I think I had a tiny bite of turkey and a little bit of mashed potatoes the entire day.
So sad.
This year, I'll be sure to make up for it ;)
However, I think the real reason I'm so excited is because I get to wear this outfit!
It is the perfect combo for any Holiday party or event.

I wore this outfit to church on Sunday and the Relief Society teacher actually called me up to the front of the room and talked about my outfit. Ha!
You better believe I let everyone know it was from Aro & Company! :)
The skirt is the perfect pencil fit with just the right amount of stretch and the best length! It sits right on your hip bones and hits the top of the knee. Perfect!

I just can't say enough great things about this outfit and the company!
Fast shipping, very helpful, and the clothes are awesome quality.
I can't wait to go grab more items from Aro & Company!
I'm already planning my Christmas party outfit!

Want this skirt for yourself??
Lucky for you it went on sale today on Eleventh Avenue for a ridiculously cheap price. Like, think under $10!
So hurry on over and grab yours before they sell out!
Then treat yourself and add a few more goodies to your cart ;)
You'll thank me later!
And so will your wallet because this is a really great budget friendly outfit!

All my love,
Aleigh Joy
