With You Every Step + Giveaway!

Monday, October 24, 2016

I remember vividly the first time I felt inclined to protect and be there for my daughter.
Obviously those instincts came right from the start, literally the moment I saw her sweet face... but it wasn't until later that I realized just how strong those mama bear instincts are.
As you may already know, Oaklyn has an eye issue.
We caught it very quick and have been working with a specialist to figure it all out since she was 9 months old... so for more than half her life.
The first time I ever noticed was when she was 5 months old.
I had posted a picture of her and saw that one of her eyes wasn't really looking at the camera the way the other was.
Long story short, we found out she has Brown's syndrome and the specialist is watching her closely to decide if we'll need to fix it with surgery.
Around the time we started meeting with the eye specialist, I started receiving some rude comments about her eye.
That's just what happens when you put your family out there on the internet, but it really got to me.
There were a few DM's, snapchats, emails, and even comments on Instagram posts with rude remarks about her eye.
I felt like a monster was going to unleash every time I read them and after that fiery mean side of me thought up every crazy thing I could do to defend her, the only thing I really did was snuggle my baby girl and let her know that she is absolutely perfect.
Because she is, she is beautifully created and means everything to me.

From that moment forward, I made sure to let her know that mama would always be there for her, no matter what life may throw at us.
With every literal step she took and every figurative new step in life, I would be right there with her supporting and encouraging her.
It warms my heart when she turns and looks for me because she knows I'm not too far away in case she needs me.
She's starting to play at the park without me right next to her and as much as I'm loving watching her grow up, I also love that she still looks towards me until our eyes meet so she knows it's all okay.

I remember when Oaklyn started to walk on her own, and I also remember tearing up when I noticed my baby was growing up right before my eyes.
When she got going on her own two feet, she really took off.
But, who did she look for when she needed an extra hand to hold?
Her mama of course :)
I loved holding her hand and watching her take those first steps in her Freshly Picked Moccs.
I wanted to ensure her feet were covered and protected while also comfortable.
We chose Freshly Picked for those reasons alone, but the style factor happened to make it the easiest choice for me on my motherhood journey ;)
The color and pattern options Freshly Picked offers will suit any mama's wants and needs.
I also assure you that the quality will win you over in a heart beat.
Not to mention, they stay on the absolute best! There is an elastic band around the ankle that keeps them from slipping off.
Just as I strive to always be there for her, I know that Freshly Picked will be too.
They helped her when learning to walk, protected her feet from the hot ground during summer, kept her warm during the frigid winter, and they were the perfect accessory during her first birthday.
I'm so glad Freshly Picked has their "Next Step" option of hard sole moccs so they will literally be with her every step of the way.

So Oaklyn Joy, I'll be there for you through every walk of life, and I'll strive to always be there when you need someone to turn to.
I'll be right there waiting for the day to end when we part for your first day of school, I'll be there when the girls at school act like anything but your friend, I'll be there when you score your first goal or stick your first backhandspring, I'll be there watching during your first school play, I'll be the first hug when you get hurt, I'll help you choose your prom dress, I'll drop you off at college, I'll help you plan your dream wedding, and I'll love your future kids as much as I love you.
There's so much you have yet to experience and I want you to know, I'll be there with you through every single step.

All my love,
Mama

Because we love Freshly Picked SO much, we have teamed up with them to give away a pair of moccs! This is a company I fully support and believe in and I know you will too! To enter head to my instagram and follow the simple steps :)

Tips To Make Moving Less Stressful

Tuesday, September 13, 2016
This is a sponsored post in partnership with Jasco Products and Acorn Influence. All opinions are my own.

As many of you know, Hunter and I recently moved our little family out of our first home. We literally only moved a block up the street, but it was still pretty stressful. I'll be honest in saying I didn't want to move. I was incredibly content wIth our little life and with all our summer home improvement projects, it was starting to feel even more like home. Then the unexpected happened... Hunter's dad passed away. And when I say unexpected, I mean really unexpected. It ended up being best for the family for us to pack up and move, but wrapping my head around that was tough. I don't do so well with change, I just never have. And a new home in the blink of an eye, is a really big change. It took us the first year of Oaklyn's life to get her to sleep longer than like two hours at a time and we were finally on a schedule with her, how was I supposed to just stick her in a whole new home and hope she would sleep?? I had just redecorated our room and loved it so much that I cried when we left. We brought our first child home to that place, Hunter carried me over the threshold, and Oaklyn took her first steps all there! I knew we would be moving at some point, but I thought it was at least a year away so I was having some serious anxiety about moving this soon. We were so lucky to have so much help with packing and moving and I truly don't know how I would've done it without everyone that helped! Moving can truly be so hard and overwhelming. You are kind of packing on adrenaline and then you are suddenly in a new home surrounded by a million boxes. So what can you do to ease the burden a little bit? Here's a few tips!

1) Make sure you have appropriate lighting in your new home
Have you ever stubbed your toe on the coffee table trying to look for the light switch? Ever ran into the wall where you thought there wasn't one in the pitch black? Ever fell down a stair or two because you thought you had a few more feet before reaching the top of the stairs? Yep... me too. Moving is stressful enough, you don't want to have to worry about running into all your furniture every day while walking through the dark. In our new place, Oaklyn is clear across the house from our bedroom and it has caused me to wake up panicked in the middle of the night, several nights. I find myself stumbling through our house at 2 in the morning just hoping I don't trip over something because I want to check on her. I knew that at some point, this could cause some injuries so we decided to look into a few different night lights! I know... I'm in my 20's and I want to research night lights?? I loved the idea of being able to see in the dark, but I didn't love the idea of a night light being on the entire night. We like our home pitch black at night. It helps all of us sleep so much better. That's when we decided Motion activated LED lights would be the perfect fit. We did some research, and I loved the GE Motion activated LED night lights. I absolutely love that these lights add a sense of safety and security to our home. GE has made it so night lights aren't just for kids anymore ;) However, they are definitely perfect for a child's room. There is a 45 minute timeout feature that is perfect to light up any hallway for a middle of the night bathroom trip. There are dual light levels that help you decide how much brightness you want to let out and the coolest part is that they are motion sensing! They require AA batteries and they install just like your average nightlight, just plug it into the nearest outlet! These Motion Activated LED night lights have really eased the burden of running into things during my middle of the night wake up to check on my daughter and have even helped me feel safer in a new home.

2) Ask friends and family to help
It was so nice to have friends and family around helping us. Hunter had some of his guy friends come help with the heavy lifting while us girls were inside cleaning and making sure everything was spotless when it came time to leave. When we were all done moving our friends and family stayed around for a little bit to unpack and make sure we were feeling somewhat settled. It was so nice to not have to worry about paying moving guys on the clock. While I know we'll have to hire a moving crew one day when we have more furniture, it was nice to just have friends and family around to help ease the stress of moving.

3) Make sure you have nothing else going on the week you are moving
This is where I went wrong! I had a jam packed week, and even the week before that when packing. I was so scatter brained and really did not think about what I was placing in boxes. There was absolutely no method to my madness. If I would have left my week open to just packing I'm sure it would have been much more smooth for me and I wouldn't have misplaced several items. I'm still trying to figure out where I put things!

Those would definitely be my top three tips on making your move less stressful. Also, the time change is quickly coming in November and you need to make sure you are prepared for a little more darkness whether you are in a new home or not! The days are going to begin to get shorter and the nights are going to feel a whole lot longer making it harder and harder to see where you are going amidst the darkness. Trust me in saying that the convenience and safety of Motion LED Lights will make your life so much easier.  They are perfect for moms like me that are constantly checking on their baby, or visitors that have no idea where they are going in the middle of the night. Motion LED lights are definitely the way to go this fall and every season!

In hopes to help all of you light up your home this fall with Motion LED Lights, I have an awesome giveaway!  One person will win a $200 Amazon gift card, to get some of your own GE Motion-Activated LED Night Lights during the coming darker months. Revamp Your Baby's Paci

Friday, April 8, 2016

I'm pretty sure Oaklyn is going to graduate high school with a pacifier in her mouth...
The girl is completely obsessed with pacifiers!
It is always attached to her and if it isn't... she notices!
I caught her in her high chair the other day crying and searching for her pacifier on her shirt.
I was dying laughing when I realized what she was doing!
The second I clipped it on her shirt the tears stopped instantly...
Ha, such a little drama queen!

I often say, "The Paci fixes everything" because in Oaklyn's case, it really does!
It calms her down instantly and helps a ton when it comes to getting her to fall asleep.
I wanted Oaklyn to take a pacifier right from the start, so I offered it to her the day she was born.
I know not everyone would agree with that, but to each his own!
It has been a lifesaver for us!
I can only imagine how hard it will be to break her from it...

I am so glad we found the company Ryan and Rose because I absolutely adore their pacifier clips!
So far, they are the best quality we have tried and they by far, have the cutest designs!
I of course love the braided ones and always will, but also decided to try out the cute rosette clip.
I had Oaklyn wear it on Easter with her pink dress and I loved it SO much!
Seriously, it was beyond cute.
If your little one loves their pacifier as much as my Oaklyn girl, having a quality pacifier clip is the only way to go!
It keeps the pacifier off the ground and is easy for them to grab or spit out as they please.
I cannot wait to try out their other clips!

I went with MAM pacifiers.
I just liked the look of them the best.
I also liked that they are orthodontic approved!
Oaklyn took them almost immediately and chose them over the other brands I offered!
The only thing I don't really like about MAM pacifiers is the weird designs they put front and center.
Okay, weird might not be the best word... cheesy I guess is.
I've never been a fan of "cheesy" baby stuff.
I even chose to do Oaklyn's nursery based off a color scheme because themed nurseries just aren't my thing... they seem cheesy to me.
But that's just me, I'm sure there are beautiful themed nurseries out there!
I know it may seem silly to be bothered by the design on a pacifier but I just wished they would have made it all white.
So, I decided to to take off the design myself!
And guess what... it worked!

That being said, I'm going to share with you how to take the cheesy design off a MAM pacifier in 4 simple steps!

1) Take a clean cotton ball and dip it in straight acetone.

2) Rub the cotton ball across the design several times

3) Once all of the design has been removed, wash the pacifiers with dish soap and really hot water

4) Soak the pacifiers in very hot water for about 30 minutes to remove acetone completely.

Ta-Da!
The tackiness has been removed!

I hope you guys liked this little mommy hack!
Let me know if you tried it and make sure to check out all the awesome paci clips Ryan and Rose has to offer!

Also, don't forget to check out my giveaway with Ryan and Rose on instagram!

Here's Why You Need a Multi Use Cover

Monday, March 21, 2016

I know, I know, another thing to add to the ever growing list of baby supplies that you just need that our parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and so on managed to live without...
I totally understand that it can get annoying with everyone saying you need "this" and can't live without "that" but this is one baby product I highly recommend you invest in.
I had a huge list of baby products in my purse before Oaklyn was born.
I continually added on to it every single day and before I knew it I practically purchased half of Target and most of Buy Buy Baby...
I realize every baby is different and prefers different products, but here's why I think you need to invest in a Copper Pearl Multi Use Cover for your infant.

Keep Your Baby Safe From Germs
As a mother, you love to show your new baby off... from a distance. Thinking your tiny baby might get sick from all the people that are trying to hold and touch him or her is a terrifying thought. So, why not just keep your little one safe and hidden with a Copper Pearl cover? This cover fits snug over the car seat and is the perfect way to tell others you don't want them holding your little one without actually saying it ;) There is also a hole at the top so you can look inside and make sure your baby is safe.

Have More Control Over The Temperature
As a little baby, Oaklyn slept quite often in her car seat. I didn't want to wake her up to bring her wherever we were going, so we kept her in the car seat in the stroller. She was born in February meaning we still had quite a few cold and windy days ahead of us. I wanted to ensure that she would stay warm without having to use a million blankets. I bought the normal car seat cover that latches on to the top and you lift it up as needed. It worked fine inside, but was terrible outside! Any time I wanted to check on her, I had to lift it up and let the cold air flood her face which usually woke her up. Another thing I hated was that it would fly up because of wind and unless I wanted to attempt to push the stroller and hold the cover down, there was no way around it. I'm so much happier with my Copper Pearl Cover because it fits snug over the seat meaning no matter how strong the wind blows, the cover will stay put. I also love that I can just look through the top hole to check on her.

Nurse Comfortably Without Being Exposed
We took Oaklyn to Disneyland when she was only a few months old. She was never the best at nursing, so I made the decision to exclusively pump. I tried to wait as long as I could. but by noon I was so engorged I could hardly stand it. I desperately needed to pump but couldn't find a place without anyone around... I mean hello, we were at Disneyland! I sat on a bench with my old nursing cover and tried my best to strategically pump without exposing myself. It was a nearly impossible task! I kept telling my husband that I wished my whole back wasn't showing so he stuck a blanket behind me. That helped a little, until I decided to move... The Copper Pearl  multi use covers are basically a poncho, so everything is completely covered and you can nurse, or pump, comfortably anytime and anywhere!

Keep Baby Clean In the Cart
Oaklyn loves to touch everything! I don't blame her, she's just super curious! However, I can't prevent her from touching the part she sits in, in the cart. I have used several anti bacterial wipes to wipe it clean before sticking her in, but I never know how much that actually helps. It is so relieving to just use my Copper Pearl multi use cover! It fits over most shopping carts and keep your little one from touching the same spot the baby before her sucked on...

I have completely fallen in love with our Copper Pearl Multi Use Cover!
I also love that it is gender neutral so I can continue to use it for the next baby whether it's a boy or girl!
I have a feeling all of you will love this item too so I have teamed up with Copper Pearl to bring all of you 10% off your purchase by using code JOYOFLIFE at checkout from now until Thursday night!
Also, don't forget to enter the giveaway on my instagram to win either a set of bandana bibs or a multi use cover from Copper Pearl!

7 Ways To Comfort Your Teething Babe

Sunday, March 20, 2016

If your baby is anything like mine while teething, you've been up all night, countless nights trying to help them feel better while teething.
I always feel so bad for my little girl when she is teething because she has no idea why her mouth hurts so bad. She is so confused and all she knows, is that she is in an incredible amount of pain.
I've searched the web, asked for tips from friends, checked out pinterest, called our on call nurse, talked to the pharmacist at Target and tried everything I can think of to comfort my sweet Oaklyn.
Below you will find my go to ways to comfort my teething babe.
The tips down below mixed with a whole lot of snuggles usually help significantly.

1) Store Bought Teethers
We've been through quite a few of these, and every baby is different, but some just aren't worth your time and money. This one is our favorite hands down! Technically it is a feeder, to help your baby feed themselves, but we love using it as a teether. Most teethers have to be completely put in the freezer making the handle cold for baby to grip. With this one, you just stick ice, frozen berries, or frozen veggies inside the mesh net and let baby hold the room temperature handle. Oaklyn loves sucking on it and the cool berries, ice, or veggies soothe her sore gums.

2) Veggies
Once you don't have to worry about your baby choking as much anymore, hand them a cool veggie to gnaw on! Our absolute favorite is giving Oaklyn a raw baby carrot that had been in the fridge all day. She eats the entire thing because she loves how the carrot feels when she bites down and she is actually eating! Most of the time when she is teething, she doesn't have an appetite and won't touch her dinner so we give her a carrot and it soothes her gums long enough to help her eat other things on her plate. We also love giving her cucumber slices, celery, apple slices, string cheese, and cut up bell peppers.

3) Frozen Baby Food Drops
For Oaklyn, this only works occasionally... but she just hates purees in general. Other babies however, I'm sure would love this! I take a piece of parchment paper and stick it on a baking sheet. I'll then put her purees in a plastic bag and snip the tip to make little dime size  drops on the parchment paper. After I have made all the drops I freeze the entire baking sheet and pop a frozen puree drop in her mouth when I can tell her gums are hurting and she just needs something cold to suck on.

4) Gum Massage With Orajel
Oaklyn kind of hates Orajel, but I know it helps her a ton! I try to give her a little gum massage while applying it and she is usually pretty calm while I do so. She sticks her fingers in her mouth all day long touching the area where a tooth is coming in trying to make it feel better. She loves when I rub it a little to try and help. I also feel like it helps the tooth pop through a little quicker... but maybe that's just me!

5) Keep Baby Dry With Copper Pearl Bandana Bibs
Most babies drool quite a bit when they are teething. Oaklyn doesn't drool quite as much as other babies but there have been plenty of times throughout the day when I feel a drool droplet hit my arm while holding her... gross. When your baby is teething and drooling, it can be so hard to keep them dry and comfortable throughout the day. That's why Copper Pearl came out with these adorable bandana bibs! They are cotton and absorb the drool throughout the day to ensure your baby stays dry and comfortable. They also have adjustable, nickel free, snaps to adjust the size for babies ages 3-36 months! However, I think my favorite part about these bibs is that they are stylish and trendy! They have adorable designs that you will love! I chose the Paris set and love every single bib. Another little tip is that you can roll them up to be a super cute little baby scarf! Because I know you will absolutely love these bibs, use code JOYOFLIFE at checkout for 10% off your order from now until Thursday night!

6) Teething Crackers
I used teething crackers like crazy when Oaklyn started teething. They helped tremendously! I went through quite a few brands and found that my favorites to start on were these and I then transitioned to these. Not only did they soothe her sore gums while teething, but these crackers kept her completely entertained for long periods of time. It would entertain her the entire time I was grocery shopping, cooking dinner, in the car, etc... I love these things! They are a bit messy, but so, so worth it! I also love that it helped teach her how to self feed.

7) If All Else Fails... Medicine
I know, not many moms will approve of my use of motrin, but we totally use it around here! I think medicine was made to be used and it helps my little girl so I give it to her when she is in pain. Because I don't want to be giving her motrin throughout the entire day I also love Highlands teething tablets.  I usually just add them to her bottle and she sucks it down without even knowing. I feel like they work instantly! A friend of mine also introduced me to Camilia Teething Drops and we use these sometimes as well! I love these and how easy it is to give them to Oaklyn.

I hope some of this helped!
I feel like I've tried everything to get my little girl to feel better when she's in pain from getting some new teeth and these tips along with a good amount of snuggles, are what I have found work the best.
I would love to know what your favorite tips are!
Let me know in the comments!
Also, don't forget to check out Copper Pearl and use code JOYOFLIFE at checkout for 10% off your purchase!
And, it just gets better!

Winter Wonderland with Pine Design

Thursday, February 4, 2016

Saturday night we went to the new Provo City Center Temple open house.
If you get the chance to go... GO!
It was seriously gorgeous and so different from the other temples I have been in.
Being inside with Oaks was the best feeling. She was so still the entire time.
It was perfect.

When we got back to the condo all of the trees were frosted.
It was gorgeous and felt like we were walking through an enchanted forest or something!
Oaklyn kept pointing at them and it just felt so special.
We went to bed that night already thinking we had gotten a lot of snow.
However, I woke up the next morning to the sound of snow plows and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the beautiful winter wonderland outside!
To a San Diego girl, this was completely magical. The cold really didn't even bother me.

As we drove to church I couldn't stop staring at all the snow and how pretty it looked.
Right after church we changed out of our nice clothes and ate some lunch.
We then put on some more layers and headed outside to play in all the new snow!
Oaklyn kept pointing at it and saying "oooohhh!" and thought it was so funny to touch.
She also ate it... just as she does with everything else she touches...

I was SO excited to put on our new, and matching, Pine Design beanies!
As you all know, I take any excuse I can to match my little princess, but we have never had matching beanies before!
The color is perfect. It's called grapefruit and that alone sold me.
It's just so vibrant and fun and stands out so well.
I loved how soft they felt on my head and I know Oaks felt the same way because she didn't even try to take it off! They are made with 100% Merino Wool.
They kept us so warm and of course, looked so cute!
I didn't want to take Oaklyn's off of her because it was just too darling!

Want one of these cute beanies for yourself??
Well it just so happens Pine Design and I are running a GIVEAWAY on my instagram account! YAY!
Just head on over and follow the simple steps to enter!
These beanies would look so cute as a matching daddy and son set too! She has tons of different colors to choose from.

What is your favorite Pine Design beanie?

Men's Holiday Gift Guide

Friday, December 11, 2015

You've now seen my gift guide for women... so what's next?
A Men's Gift Guide!
The readership of my blog naturally, is more women... so why am I posting a men's gift guide?
Because, if you're anything like me, every single year you struggle trying figure out what to get your husband/boyfriend, brother, father, or any other male in your life.
Why are men SO hard to shop for?
I think it's because they're actually quite simple and just don't really need/want anything unless it costs way more than a Christmas budget...
So this year I thought about what Hunter really uses/could use and did some research on smaller companies so I knew I would get the best bang for my buck.
And... Here is what I came up with!

1. Thread Wallets | These are the coolest, most convenient, and stylish wallets I have found. So many men's wallets are bulky and can be easily seen in the pocket of jeans. Especially since skinny jeans are now all the rage. This wallet allows you to carry everything you need, yet still have room for your phone and anything else you need in your pocket. I'm loving ALL of the designs thread wallets has to offer and I love that they change them out seasonally. Another great feature of these wallets, is that they have a key ring to attach your keys, gym pass, lanyard, etc. Thread Wallets are made out of tightly-knit elastic. Your cards will remain secure while your wallet maintains a slim profile which sits comfortably in your front or back pocket. Nervous your card or money are going to fall out? Watch this video and thank me for introducing you to this awesome company later ;)

2. Blenders Eyewear | These shades are awesome! We are loving the quality of them and are so excited that Hunt has an awesome pair of sunglasses to bring to California. We're loving the shape, the fit, and the design. I'm also loving the story behind Blenders! Being a Southern California native and going to the beach often growing up, I was so excited to see that this company started in California! They have so many different designs of sunglasses to choose from so you're guaranteed to find one pair you love, however, I'm sure you'll find more ;)

3. Jigsaw Furnishings | Okay, this thing is SO cool! I've never seen anything like it and I'm so excited I was able to find this company! This really is a great gift for men! It's a valet for your phone, wallet, keys, pen, watch, glasses, etc. The assemble is SO easy and it is great for travel!
The Catchall™ is designed to provide a place for several items. It has slots for key chains, glasses, sunglasses, necklaces, bracelets, bluetooth headset, or headphones. It can be used as a charging station, and there is no need to unplug the phone and thread the charger through a hole. Just slide the cable through the slot. There is also a slot directly below the phone charging area to allow your charger cable to pass-through. The Catchall™ can easily be stored or packed. Assembly is also as easy as just sliding the two pieces together. The Catchall™ is not a permanent fixture that you have to screw to your wall. It goes wherever you want it to go! It has made keeping all of Hunter's things together SO easy! I also love the simplistic design.
4. Arvo Watches | I think we all know by now that Arvo is one of my favorite brands out there! I seriously wear my watch every single day and Hunter LOVES his too. I love the style of these watches as well as the great quality. Hunter and I both continue to get excited every single time we put our watches on. They are so classy and look great with anything. They can easily be dressed up or dressed down. Every single time we wear these watches we get compliments and people asking where we got them. They are very affordable, especially for the quality you are getting! However, my favorite part is that the band can be switched out! Seriously, how cool is that?! So, when you buy one watch, you're actually buying like 20 different watches because you can easily switch out the band to create a whole new look! I could go on and on about how much I love Arvo but I'll leave it at this: You NEED one of these watches!

5. Rade Menswear | How classy is that tie?? We all know that one of the best gifts, and most common gift for men is a tie! However, there are millions of styles out there and so many brands to choose from. So what makes one tie stick out from the other? It's all in the quality and design. I'm loving Rade for both of those reasons. We are loving all of the ties from Rade and couldn't be happier with how they look on! They also sell tie bars, lapel pins, and pocket squares. The one stop shop for your needs of dressing up.

6. Simply Skinny Ties | Since we're on the topic of ties, I just had to let you all know about another one of my all time favorite brands. I did an entire post a bit ago on Simply Skinny Ties and I meant every word! These ties really are amazing quality and the designs are like nothing I've seen. Every time Hunter wears one, he tells me how great the knot looks and how easily it ties. One of the coolest parts of Simply Skinny Ties is the back. There are different pieces of fabric that really make them stand out. If you're looking for a unique and great quality tie, head over to Simply Skinny!

7. Waffle Love | I've already talked about how much we love Waffle Love quite a few times but I just have to say it again! Hunter is obsessed with this place and could probably eat one every single day! He is obsessed with Biscoff and cannot get enough of the Biscoff and cream waffle! I'm pretty sure like 3 people in this world actually know the recipe for these waffles and I've never tasted anything even a little bit similar! They are made with dough instead of batter and are all around incredible!

Like what you see?
How would you feel if I told you that you could WIN everything above?!
Pretty awesome right??
That would take care of Christmas completely for the man in your life!
So how do you go about winning all these items?
You know the drill...
Head over to my instagram account to enter ;)

What is the man in your life asking for this year?

All my love,
Aleigh Joy

Christmas With a Baby | Little Head to Toe

Monday, November 30, 2015

Aren't you just dying at that cute little face?
Gosh, I love that child of mine so very much!
She's at such a fun age where she's curious about everything and just wants to explore all the time.
Of course, everything always goes straight to her mouth too ;)
I've been having so much fun experiencing her first Christmas with her.
I'm actually probably loving it much more than she is ;)
It's just so fun to see her reaction to all the lights, holiday music, sparkly decor, and fun events to attend.

"No worries mom, I'm just gonna make sure these decorations taste okay!"
Oaklyn "helped" me do a little extra decorating the other day and I couldn't help but stop and laugh at the fact that it was taking much longer than it did last year with this little girl tearing everything apart!
Her favorite decoration has definitely been these jingle bells that are made for a door but have made their way into Oaklyn's toy box ha.
She's also loving the big ornaments on the tree, even though she's pretty afraid of the tree itself ha! (thank goodness)

Oaks has figured out how to crawl just about anywhere so she constantly has red knees.
Her little toesies are always getting cold because she will not keep shoes on, ever, and her socks just make her slip all over the floor.
I'm so excited about these cute baby shoes from Little Head to Toe that keep her feet warm as she's exploring and during this Holiday season that also actually stay on her feet.
I LOVE the cute plaid design and the neutral color that goes with several outfits.

Oaklyn isn't a huge fan of dresses but all I want to put her in this Christmas season is cute holiday dresses for every picture!
Wearing a skirt is just as cute, and in my opinion, much more functional!
I'm able to keep her in a onesie so she can't rip her diaper off or expose everyone but she still has the adorable feminine look of a dress.
It's perfect!
This is skirt from Little Head to Toe is hands down my favorite skirt she owns and you better believe you'll be seeing it in several holiday photos!
I'm loving everything about the print and colors and the fit is the cutest!
I fits just right with the elastic waist band and has just the right amount of fit and flair.
It is just SO cute!

I'm so excited to put Oaklyn in some tights and put this skirt on as well.
I can just picture it already!
Her chubby little leg rolls look so darling in tights!
This little girl may have one of the biggest jocks for a daddy, but her mommy will make sure she's always dressed in a skirt and bow ;)

We've had so much fun reading Oaklyn her Christmas books.
Our favorite so far is "Olive the Other Reindeer"
The play on words is hilarious and even though Oaklyn could probably care less, she enjoyed staring at all the pictures :)
We already bought our Christmas jammies and we are finalizing dates to go home for the holidays.
Oaklyn gets to meet Santa soon, our Christmas party is coming up, the stocking are hung and the tree is decorated, I've been constantly sipping hot cocoa, and the chill in the air is making me so happy.
Christmas has always been my favorite, but Christmas with a baby girl is just that much more magical :)
