It's Time To Think About Dad With Jord Watches

Hunter has been excited to become a father for as long as I've known him.

Back in our high school days we dreamed of having 10 kids running around our house.

Then we had one... Ha!

Even though our ideas of how many kids we are wanting have changed, Hunter's love for being a father hasn't.

Oaklyn will do the littlest things and Hunter can't stop talking about how perfect she is and how much he loves being her dad.

I never doubted whether or not he'd be a "good" dad, but I will say he has exceeded my expectations!

The day Oaklyn was born, I saw a new side of Hunter and it made me fall in love with him even more than I already had.

I wish you all could've seen his face the first time he laid eyes on her, it was like he had fallen in love all over again.

He was so natural holding her and taking care of her right from the start and even during the sleepless nights, he loved her more than she'll ever understand.

As Oaklyn gets older it is so fun for me to see their relationship.

She is the bossiest little girl with her daddy, but she also has the most special bond with him. 

She follows him around everywhere and is in full blown tears when he has to leave for work. 

Hunter cherishes every bit of time he gets to spend with her and loves looking back on memories.

It is beyond cute to see him get emotional about his little girl.

Since being a father is one of his biggest passions in life, I've been thinking about how I can make Father's Day special for him this year.

I want him to know how much we appreciate and value all he does as a father.

My Secret To A Cleaner Home

Let's get something straight here... my home is almost never clean haha.

Like seriously, I have other strengths in other areas but when it comes to cleaning I have zero motivation!

It was a little different when we were living in the condo because it actually felt like our place, but currently this basement just doesn't feel like ours.

And quite frankly, it isn't.

None of our pictures are on the walls, nothing really has a spot, and the constant clutter of nothing really having a spot is overwhelming to me.

When something is overwhelming to me, I'd just rather not deal with it haha. 

I decided if anything else, I want the carpet to be clean and the floors to be without crumbs.

This can be really difficult with a toddler running around constantly spilling everything and a loud vacuum that will wake up said toddler during naps and bedtime. 

This is where my little secret comes in ;)

I want to introduce to you my favorite household item like... ever.

A little while back we got a bObsweep robotic vacuum that has literally changed my life!

Haha yes I dislike vacuuming that much!

With Bobi, as Oaks calls him, we can just turn him on and not worry about the rest.

The constant messes Oaklyn makes don't stress me out near as much anymore because I know by the end of the day, Bobi has it covered. 

Our particular model is the bObsweep Pet Hair which at first I was like uh... I'm allergic to any animal with fur so we don't currently, nor will we ever have an animal.

However, this could not a more perfect model for our family!

Have you seen the hair on both me and Oaklyn's heads??

Yeah... we might as well be pets ha!

When I empty out Bobi, the majority of the contents are me and Oaklyn's long hairs.

Thank you Bobi, for making sure to pick up all that hair we didn't even know existed... yikes!

I was skeptical that Bobi wouldn't be able to figure out the set up we have down here because there's a step from the kitchen to the family room.

I was sure he would just fall right off the step but he has so many awesome features that make it so he can literally clean anywhere.

You can use the remote to control him, you can set him to clean one specific spot, you can make almost like a "do not cross" line that he won't go past, you can turn him on auto and just let him do as he pleases, etc...

He vacuums the carpet, he sweeps up crumbs off hardwood, you guys, he even mops!

Wait let me say that again... MOPS!

I seriously love this little robot so much.

He has a little charging port he goes to when he needs to get a reboot that plugs into the wall so you don't have to worry about batteries either.

I really could go on and on about why everyone needs one of these in their because it honestly has made all the difference in mine, but I'll end here ;)

Now if only someone could invent a little robot that does the dishes and scrubs the toilet... haha.

Holiday Gift Guide For The Man In Your Life!

Does anyone else struggle shopping for their husband every year??

Hunter is actually fairly easy because he's pretty low maintenance, but he can never think of anything he actually wants and it drives me crazy! haha!

He never needs clothes because he works for BYU football and gets everything he needs from them.

He also isn't home much with school and work, so fun at home gadgets wouldn't do much good just yet.

I usually just end up getting a few things so there's something under the tree for him haha.

I'm hoping this gift guide helps some of you out that are in the same boat as me!

1) Thread Wallets: Thread Wallets are the slimmest wallets around. They are able to hold all of your cards and cash without taking up a ton of room in your pocket and they are safe! I remember watching a video where they took one on a rollercoaster and it didn't budge. I love all their designs and the convenience of these wallets. 

2) JoTotes Camera Bag: Yes, this was on my women's list as well... but their backpacks are totally gender neutral! Hunter takes all my blog photos for me and feels totally comfortable lugging around this bag. It's stylish but not too feminine and helps the photographer in your family carry all their equipment. 

3) An Arvo Watch: You've heard me rave about Arvo time and time again but seriously, these are our absolute favorite! hunter has the all black one and I just love how it looks on him. 5) Dazi Tie: I bought Hunter a ton of ties while he was on his mission and I regret every purchase because all he really wears now are his Dazi ties! We absolutely love these ties. They are slim but not too skinny and look awesome on everyone. They have prints no one else does and every one of them is designed to please. Seriously, these are our favorite!

6) Blenders Eyewear: Hunter complains about the sun being in his eyes often and I'm always wondering why he doesn't just wear sunglasses! Now that he has a pair of these, he finally does ;) We love these sunglasses! They have so many styles and designs and are awesome quality!

Holiday Gift Guide For the Woman In Your Life!

Every single year, my husband and mom ask me what I want for Christmas and I can't think of anything!

I don't know why it's so hard for me, but I truly can't think of anything I really need or desperately want.
Then I end up asking for things I really don't even love because I can't think of anything I love. Anyone else?

While I think it must be a piece of cake shopping for a woman, my husband says otherwise... ha!

Alright, let's start off with those small shops! I can assure you, that I love every single one of these shops and will be a continuing customer with them! They carry everything I need, hold up great, and are super cute! The mama with young kids in your life needs this! Or, use it as a travel bag!

7) Rad Swim Suit or Gift Card: I'm obsessed with Rad Swim! I have been from the very beginning and just can't get enough of their cute suits! I have quite a few from them and can't stop the addiction! They are all modest and cute and make me feel comfortable in my skin! Also comes in mini sizes ;)

8) Kiki Lu Designs Diaper Bag/Travel Bag: I would recommend this bag to anybody! It is not only super cute but also amazingly well made and super functional! There is literally a pocket for everything! Also has the convenience of a backpack or messenger style. Mine hasn't left my side since I got it! This would be great for hands free traveling with the backpack feature!

9) Wuko Gals Dress or Gift Card: Obsessed doesn't even begin to cover it with these dresses! I absolutely love every dress I have from them. The fit is perfect and flatters every body type. There are so many fun styles and colors to choose from there's no way you can go wrong. The quality is the best and is a purchase that is seriously worth it!

10) Kortni Jeane Swimmer or Gift Card: The designs of Kortni suits are so cute it's insane! The high waisted bottoms and peplum tops will never go out of style! 11) Ruthie Grace Clothes or Gift Card: Ruthie Grace is one of the cutest boutiques out there! They are always so up to date with trends and carry styles I don't see in other boutiques. The clothes are always top quality and they have such an awesome selection. I can always find at least 10 things I have to have on their site! You really can't go wrong here ;)

12) Dainty Jewells Dress or Gift Card: Another favorite dress company! This is where you will find all your timeless classics. Every time I scroll through their website, I want to get all dressed up and head out with my love. Their dresses are so unique and fit all different shapes and sizes of bodies. There are soo many cute options and variations! Comes in kid sizes too!

Seriously guys, I wouldn't recommend these shops if I didn't love every single one of them! Your wife, girlfriend, mom, and any other women in your life are guaranteed to love them too!

Easter Basket "Must Haves"

We have been absolutely loving the spring weather we've been having lately!

All the snow is melted in the valley and the sun is shining bright!

It's still in the high 50's/low 60's but we've had a few days in the high 60's and I'm totally soaking it up!

If you follow me on snapchat (@aleighjoy) then you know Oaklyn and I go to the park at least 3 times a week, but usually more!

I love that it gets all her energy out before nap time and ensures we get fresh air every single day.

It is feeling so much like spring and we're just giddy over here!

Hunter and I love going on walks and I noticed some of the "popcorn trees" are starting to get blooms on them and we both got so excited!

I can't wait until the mountains are filled with green, the canyon is blooming with wildflowers, and we can sandals again!

I get so excited over just about every holiday and it's ten times more fun with a baby.

I loved that for as long as I can remember, my mom always had an Easter basket laid out in the morning for us.

I'm so excited to carry on that tradition with Oaklyn.

I know she won't fully understand what is going on for at least another year, but I'm still going to give her an Easter basket this year :)

Women's Holiday Gift Guide

Friends! I am SO excited about this gift guide right now!

It's pretty much my Christmas list...

I love EVERYTHING on it, and I know you will too!

If you're stumped this year trying to figure out what you want... I have you covered! 

And the best part? These are all very affordable gifts!

Cause let's be honest for a sec... Christmas is so great, but it can get pretty overwhelming with the amount of money being spent.

So, here's a list you won't feel terrible handing to your mom, boyfriend, or husband ;)

1. Rad Swim | I LOVE everything over at Rad Swim. Like seriously... everything. I love all the unique designs and I especially love that they are modest! This black suit is a dream! The fringe and the aztec design are so incredible. I get it... it's winter. All you can think about right now is a scarf and mittens, (except my SD friemds!) but winter is the best time to by a bathing suit! It gives you something to work towards wearing over summer ;)

2. Zella Leggings | I'm obsessed with these leggings! I wear them more than I should admit and they are beyond comfortable! Not only that... but they are the best quality. Stop buying your $10 walmart leggings and wondering every time you wear them if you can see through them. These are the best quality. And... they definitely beat lulu's price ;)

3. Waffle Love | I can't get over how good these waffles are! I find myself craving them allllll the time! If you really wanna surprise your loved ones, stick a waffle love gift card in their stocking! Maybe, they'll even take you with them ;)

4. Piper and Scoot | Ever since finding out about this online shop, I've been completely obsessed. It's so dangerous following them on instagram because I seriously want everything I see! Then I have to talk myself out of it ha! But the times that I don't, I'm so happy with my purchases! I'm especially loving this plaid peplum! It's so entirely dreamy! Oh, and it would look great with some Zella leggings and black booties ;)

5. Anthro Mug | THIS MUG! Uhm, it's amazing. I'm obsessed with all things gold and this gold lettering is killin it! I can just picture drinking cocoa in it next to the tree! I'm obsessed with mugs as it is, but this one has been my absolute fav so far!

6. Black Booties | Every girl needs a cute pair of booties. Every girl also needs a cute pair of booties in both black and brown ;) I have brown, and I'm now swooning over this black pair! Forever 21's booties fit me really well and black just goes with everything! Please get me these Santa! *cough, cough... Hunter

7. Faux Fur Vest | Another thing every girl needs is a faux fur vest! I'm dying over these! I can just picture it with that plaid peplum! I would totally insert a heart eye emoji here if I could! You really can't beat Target prices, and I tried this one on so I know it's worth it!

8. MAC Lip Glass | I'm going to be honest here for  a sec... I don't buy expensive brands of makeup. It's never been worth it to me because I don't wear a whole lot very often and you just wash it off at the end of the day anyways, so like, what't the point? Right? Then, I got married and decided to splurge a little on wedding makeup. I went to the MAC counter and have loved everything I got but this lip gloss is absolutely on my top 5 favorite makeup products ever! It's the most beautiful shade and works with all neutral looks! It also stays on surprisingly well! So worth it.

Happiest of Mondays because... Surprise! A Giveaway!

I chose this watch because I love how classy and pretty it looks but let me just tell you the best part... If I want to switch it up one day all I have to do is change out the band!

I'm really eyeing that blush pink band... Maybe for Christmas? :)

I absolutely love when a company reaches out and gives back, I think it says a whole lot about what they stand for.
